Parents
Your son or daughter is interested in pursuing a career in the arts, and we know that as a parent, you have a lot of questions. At the Kansas City Art Institute, we understand the importance of your son's or daughter's future. At KCAI, we believe in providing students with a well-rounded education, one that nurtures them creatively as well as provides a practical education.
Kansas City Art Institute provides graduates with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. We have majors in subjects as diverse as animation, art history, ceramics, digital filmmaking, fiber, graphic design, interdisciplinary arts, new media, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture and studio art in creative writing. Because all of our majors concentrate on developing students creatively and artistically, we provide students with a unique environment that feeds their imagination. We surround your son or daughter with others who share their passion for the arts, and they have enormous opportunities for artistic discussion, inspiration and support.
KCAI also understands the concern that many parents may feel about whether an art career is a realistic choice for students. Because of this, our career services office has developed an extensive list of services in order to help students discover the path that's right for them. In past years, 41% of graduates have pursued careers in art-related fields, 18% have gone on to teach at the high school or college level, and 26% have become studio artists.
If your son or daughter chooses to pursue their education at KCAI, you can be assured that they're receiving an educational experience that will be valuable for the rest of their lives.
